Texture Analyzers in a Lab
When a laboratory purchases a texture analyzer, it must be sure that the device is effective and works properly. This is a fact of
the industry that can never be overlooked. The purchase of such devices is done with the definitive purpose of arriving at accurate
results. When the machinery is not working properly, the end result will be an inaccurate assessment of the composition report. This
can wreck havoc in the lab which is why it is so very necessary to be sure the texture analyzers are working effectively.
There
are two ways to go about ensuring the systems are working properly. The first way entails running a test and the other entails a physical
inspection.
Running a test is a relatively simple process. What this entails is running a substance through the texture analyzer
that you already know the composition of. Then, when the report is issued, it becomes necessary to make the proper comparison between
the new report and the old one. If the output matches then it would appear the system is running effectively. However, if there are
inconsistencies, a problem may exist with the texture analyzer.
The other side of the coin is a physical inspection and it can
prove helpful in picking up on problems associated with the device. If the texture analyzer is not working effectively, it is determine
if a defect in the device is present. If so, then replacing the device might be the best option unless, of course, it can be effectively
repaired.
Laboratories must always be aware of whether or not the equipment in the lab is working properly. When it isn't, a
great many problems can arise.
